This week in the new and noteworthy around the neighborhood saw forward progress for the controversial "Bike Yield Law", a Park Station community police meeting where Capt. Sanford fielded questions about (among other things) police procedure in the wake of the Mario Woods shooting, additional services from oft-controversial commuter service Chariot, and the departure of local activist Morgan Fitzgibbons to greener pastures.

In other news, VeganBurg is set to open tomorrow morning after a protracted renovation of 1466 Haight St. following the closure of All You Knead almost three years ago. "I'm not even vegetarian and I'm excited," said one Hoodline reader. Hopefully the vegan patties live up to the hype.

Curbed SF reported this week that the Smurf-blue gem on Central at Haight (above, robed) came off the market for a cool $1.9M this week. They chalked up the surprisingly "low $590 per square foot" to a tired-looking interior.

And in case you were wondering, that sinkhole (below) in front of Zam Zam is still going strong. The city has installed warning barriers around it and closed the adjacent parking spaces to allow trucks and buses to pass. There's no indication of when it will be fixed.
