Good news from the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus: its six holiday concert raised $30,378.32 for the Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy. As artistic director Dr. Timothy Seelig puts it the chorus "sings to change the world around us."
Over the weekend, we checked out a hidden gem up at Douglass and 21st: Neighbor's Corner, a non-traditional corner store.
The long-vacant former Home location, from which Chipotle was rejected, is still set to be torn down for a 62-unit building with commercial space on the ground floor. To make it happen, they're seeking approval at an upcoming Planning Commission hearing.
After last week's event was cancelled for rain, SF Rec & Park has set a new date for the Grand Opening of Dolores Park. Now that the park is officially opening, will park visitors change their tune and start treating the park well, or will we see the return of mounds of garbage, as in years past?

Yesterday marked the beginning of Restaurant Week, formerly Dine About Town, which runs through January 31st in San Francisco. Restaurants all over town are participating; in the Castro, they include HECHO, Bisou and sister restaurant Beso, Catch, Cafe du Nord, Canela, Destino, Aatxe, and Starbelly.
