Chinese lanterns are up, and New Year’s preparations are underway in both San Francisco’s and Oakland’s Chinatowns. The Chinese New Year is this coming Monday, February 8, but festivities usually last until the end of the month.
The Oakland Asian Cultural Center will be having a Lunar New Year Celebration on February 27, OMCA is having a Lunar New Year celebration on February 14, and the Chinese New Year Festival and Parade in San Francisco is on February 20.
