
The New Fillmore, the neighborhood newspaper covering the intersection of the Fillmore, Japantown and Pacific Heights since 1986, published its February issue last week. Here's a quick look at the top stories.

The Fillmore district has a diverse community of residents, and in this month's edition, the New Fillmore interviews Robert Boas, who recently wrote a book titled Battle Rattle: A Last Memoir Of World War II. Boas describes his colorful life serving as a soldier, and how he ended up in the Fillmore.
French designer Isabelle McGee opened her interior design firm Regard at 2182 Sutter in 2013. “Our interior, our street, our neighborhood, it’s all connected,” she tells the New Fillmore. “I can offer some advice — to refresh and rearrange and live in accordance with our values.”
The Clay Theatre on Fillmore has a colorful history, but in this piece the New Fillmore takes a step back in time to 1985 and the premiere of the spaghetti western parody Lust in the Dust. Actors Tab Hunter, Divine and Cesar Romero were all in attendance, and last year, some of those involved in the film returned. Check out this snapshot of upper Fillmore history.
