Two suspects have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the Nov. 22nd hit-and-run on San Jose Avenue that killed 60-year-old Dennis Nix, who was riding a motor scooter at the time. Nix lived near Monterey Boulevard but was deeply involved with the Castro community; he was on his way home from a party for his running club at the time of the collision.

Today, police announced the arrest of Brendan Wallace, 32, of Broadmoor, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit & run and providing false information to peace officers. Police suspect Wallace of being the driver of the silver-colored Mercedes involved in the fatal collision.

A second suspect, Heinz Raino Cortado, 34, also of Broadmoor, was booked for felony accessory to the hit & run and providing false information to peace officers. Police say that he's suspected of being the driver of a getaway vehicle which picked up the driver of the Mercedes near the scene of the crime.
