Hayes Valley residents may notice a few things afoot in the neighborhood today. The beginning of April is bringing with it some strange business decisions from local cat cafe KitTea, Greek restaurant Souvla, and bag maker Timbuk2. But we're never one to judge, so we'll let you decide what you think of these new changes.

KitTea announced today that it's undergoing a change of business model and name: the newly christened "BroTea" will now be offering quality tea time with bros, instead of cats. "All of our bros will come from a 'tech start-up mansion' shelter in the Marina District," the Facebook announcement states. "Come support our bros by meeting them in the bro lounge, or just enjoy watching them through our tea lounge window as they drink beer and play corn hole."

In a second annual rebranding, popular Hayes Valley restaurant Souvla announced this morning that it has revamped its menu, style and mascot. The former Greek restaurant has decided to pursue a Mexican fare, and has rebranded completely: from the menu to the decor. Swing by 517 Hayes St. today to pet a donkey, dance to a mariachi band, and drink a Jarritos in the new cactus-themed dining room.

Today's menu at La Souvlaria will focus on tacos and taco salads, featuring American Homestead Pork Carnitas, Rocky Junior’s Freerange Pollo Verde, and Superior Farms Lamb Leg Mole. Chef Tony Cervone is confident in his menu. “Honestly, the techniques and flavor profiles are not that far from what I’ve trained for over a decade to cook... It’s a lot like Greek with a kick of jalapeño," he said in a press release.

Last but certainly not least, Timbuk2 is launching a new bag today. Calling it "a mini messenger for the mini-you," the coin-purse-sized messenger bag comes it at $9. The only color option at the moment is Rastafarian-inspired, but we're sure that the product's success will result in expanded option down the line.
