Event Spotlight: 'All Day I Dream' Brings DJs, Dancing, Art Cars To Golden Gate ParkPhotos: All Day I Dream/Facebook

All Day I Dream (ADID) started as a day party on a rooftop in Brooklyn. Five years later, it's grown into a global brand, synonymous with good times, good vibes and melodic house music. Last year, the traveling day party made its San Francisco debut at Treasure Island; this Sunday, it will land at Golden Gate Park's Hellman Hollow for All Day I Dream in the Park.

Each spring, the ADID crew leave their Brooklyn home base and travel to electronic music hotspots like Barcelona and London. Propelled by Lee Burridge's success as a DJ and Matt Dekay's production skills, the party has become an international sensation.

For each event, the group's production crew assembles the famous ADID arches, adorned with ribbons and ornamental lanterns. The music is a mix of ethereal house and techno, and the sound seems to bounce off the waves of fabric, filling the space with uplifting melodies.

Partygoers, nicknamed "Dreamers," are free to indulge their creativity as well. Their outfits range from simple to ornate; some wear the latest street styles, while others are utterly fanciful.

The event kicks off with a group yoga warmup, and after the DJs spin, two unannounced "very special guests" will close out the event with a live set.

For All Day I Dream in the Park, the Bay Area's own Hoj will join Burridge behind the decks. Hoj spent his early years in in San Francisco clubs, serving as a resident DJ for Opel Productions and spinning for dance music pioneers Spundae. Though he currently lives in LA, he's excited for his homecoming show at Golden Gate Park. "I always dreamt of playing there," he told us.

Burridge also has a special relationship with San Francisco. Before All Day I Dream, he performed at the Lovefest, where he was a crowd favorite and had his own afterparty, "LoveLee."

Hoj, who first met Burridge at Burning Man, says he was a DJ that San Francisco really embraced. For both Hoj and Burridge, "Burning Man influences who we are, what we do we musically and creatively in all pursuits," Hoj explained.

With such a large community of Burners living in the Bay Area—not to mention the space Golden Gate Park affords—ADID is aiming to bring plenty of the festival's signature art cars and art projects to the party. Food trucks will sell snacks for hungry dancers, and there will be plenty of bars and a beer garden. Vendors who specialize in products for the Playa will also be in attendance, selling their wares.

"I'm looking forward to hanging out with friends," says Hoj. "Out of all the urban locations throughout the world, Golden Gate Park is pretty unique and amazing ... getting to play there is beautiful."
