Did you enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend and get some sunshine and BBQ? With a short work week this week, it won't be long before you get to enjoy what looks to be another great weekend ahead.

Let's take a look at a few stories going on around the neighborhood.

With today being June 1st, it's officially Pride Month. You know what that means: only a few more weeks until Pride festivities come to the neighborhood. If you haven't noticed yet, the Pride Flags that line Market Street from the Ferry Building to Harvey Milk Plaza have gone up.

Back in April, we reported on the SF Pride Grand Marshals letting you know that the Pink Brick Award had yet to be announced. The Bay Area Reporter tells us this week that SF Pride will not be giving the award to anyone this year. SF Pride Executive Director George Ridley stated, "We will not be issuing a Pink Brick for 2016. It is an aspect of the event that I would like to reevaluate for the future. Given where we are in the planning for 2016 we will not be looking at this until after this year’s event.”

Read on for a few highlights of events going on in the Castro this week.

Roll on over to Lookout on Friday for the 6th Annual ALC Send Off Party to support riders and roadies as they take off Sunday on the 7-Day 545 mile AIDS/Lifecycle

Comedian Marga Gomez give us a sneak peek of her upcoming tour Pound on Friday at Spark Arts. In this stripped-down version of the show, Gomez "plays a celibate celesbian catapulted through a vaginal portal into a steamy data cloud where notorious lesbian cinematic archetypes such as extortionists, showgirls, murderers and school teachers hook up in spectacularly meta ways."

Saturday morning at Jane Warner Plaza, join in on the Nametag Day action. Started in 2013 through a grant from the Awesome Foundation (yes, it's a real thing), Nametag Day encourages conversation and connection with the people with whom you share your city. Events will be held throughout the city, across the country and even globally. Slap on a nametag and meet your neighbors. What could possibly go wrong?

Finally, feel like staying in and playing videos games this weekend? Well Brewcade is the place for you. Saturday afternoon grab your buddies and form a team for the wildly popular Killer Queen tournament
