Another weekend is almost upon us. Here's what's coming up around the neighborhood.
The "girls" are back at Oasis with two new episodes of Sex and The City Live! Paying tribute to the beloved HBO series, the five-year-old drag show—written and directed by Oasis co-founder D'Arcy Drollinger—features Sue Casa in the role of Carrie Bradshaw and Drollinger, Lady Bear and Steven LeMay as her crew of gal pals looking for love in the big city, Cosmopolitans in hand. The latest show airs Thursdays through Saturdays, through July 2nd.
Graffiti art fans won't want to miss 1AM Gallery's latest exhibition "Legendary." The group show features 12 artists from the Legends of Rare Designs (LORDS) Crew, which started 30 years ago in San Jose. "With exponential membership growth over the years, LORDS have imprinted their presence as one of the largest and oldest international crews in the game," the organizers say. The free public opening runs 6:30-9:30pm Friday and on view through July 14th.
Also Friday night, Fillmore District native Andre Nickatina is taking the stage at Slim's. Join one of "the last original trend setters" for an evening of "raw, uncut" lyrics and, no doubt, a time-machine back to the "golden-era of Hip-Hop."
