While this weekend's main attraction is undoubtably Sunday Streets, plenty of free and cheap events are also coming up around the neighborhood before and after the annual street festival.
Tonight, the Luggage Store Gallery is celebrating the debut of the exhibition Frisco Zoo. Presented by Mission Gallery—"a platform for emerging and established artists in local communities who identify as people of color"—the show features the works of 13 mixed-media artists playing with the idea that life in the city is an urban jungle and residents are "captives in a zoo."
On a lighter note, Chandran Gallery at 459 Geary St. will be blooming tonight. London-based artist Rebecca Louise Law is making her U.S. debut by stringing 8,000 real flowers from the gallery's ceiling. Consider checking out the installation tonight during the opening reception, then popping back in later this month to see how it evolves as the flowers dry.

If you haven't seen it yet, this is the last weekend to catch H.O.M.E. (Hookers On Mars Eventually). Written by a San Francisco native, the synopsis promises "an eclectic mix of sex workers, Tupac, Mars, and a sprinkle of the AfroSurreal" on a prostitute's journey from Oakland to Mars to reconnect with the son she abandoned.
While tickets are normally $25, it appears that $10 tickets are still available for 8pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday on Brown Paper Tickets using the promo code "luckystar."

Lastly, anyone looking for employment in the area won't want to miss the job fair Monday afternoon at The Hall (1028 Market St.). From 2-5pm, candidates can meet with a slew of local employers and career training programs—including Equator Coffees & Teas, Popsons Burgers, Mission Hiring Hall and Code Tenderloin (which is also in a race against the clock to raise $50,000 for its job training program by July 15th.)
And for those with criminal records holding them back, representatives from the public defender's office will be on hand to discuss how the Clean Slate program could help them clear their records and start anew.
Employers and organizations that would like to participate in the job fair are encouraged to contact Ilana Lipsett at [email protected].
