SFPD has charged a man with robbing a Fisherman's Wharf art gallery earlier this month, when he allegedly made off with $210,000 worth of antique ivory sculptures and figurines.

Cameron Ybarra, 26, was identified by Central Station officers as a suspect in the case. Incidentally, he was already in custody for an unrelated crime; he's being charged with burglary in this latest incident.

The August 18th robbery occurred at an art gallery on the 200 block of Jefferson Street in Fisherman's Wharf. Police say the suspect made his way into the building and forced open cabinets and lockers, collecting more than 60 antique ivory pieces before absconding with the loot.

Despite the arrest of Ybarra, the investigation is ongoing, as none of the stolen goods have been located.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact SFPD Central Station Investigations at 415-315-2445, or the Anonymous Tip Line at 415-575-4444, or Text A Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.
