A 21-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries early Saturday morning after crashing his vehicle on a sidewalk at 16th and Harrison streets in the Mission.

According to the SFPD, the driver was traveling westbound on 16th toward Harrison Street at 1:37am. He then drove onto the sidewalk on the northeast corner of the intersection, where he struck a light pole, fire hydrant and Muni bus stop shelter.

The driver was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The SFPD has not reported the cause of the collision or whether the driver will face any charges.
