Cultivar Wine Bar Opens This Week In The MarinaPhoto: Cultivar/Facebook

The Marina is getting a new wine bar this week, as Napa's Cultivar will celebrate the grand opening of its San Francisco outpost this Wednesday, May 3rd.

Currently in its soft-opening phase, Cultivar comes from brother-and-sister winemakers Jody Harris and Gingy Harris Gable, who aim to offer a "unique beverage experience—including wine on tap and both wine by the bottle and by the keg for sale—along with a hyper-seasonal, small plates menu," according to a press release.

"Cultivar is proving to be exactly the sort of farm to table fresh which is lacking in most of the Marina," said Zachary T., the first Yelper to review the new spot on April 30th. "I don't think you often find food this good so quickly into the start of a restaurant," he said, offering high praise for the new spot's peas and feta, roasted carrots, hummus and tri tip dishes. "It'll be interesting to see how much this place will improve over the course of time."

The new spot is located in the former We Olive retail space at 2379 Chestnut St. (between Divisadero and Scott). Starting Wednesday, it'll be open 3pm - 11pm.
