In the last week, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the March 9 beating of a Lyft driver on Highway 101. Three individuals have plead not guilty, while police arrested a fourth suspect on Monday in connection with the incident.
Gabriel Rodriguez, 25, Jarrell Williams, Jr., 29, and Derwayne Johnson, 33, were arrested last week by the California Highway Patrol and are currently in custody. KRON4 reports that the trio was arrested on June 16 on suspicion of vandalism, assault with a deadly weapon, battery, conspiracy, assault, and battery.
A fourth suspect, 25-year-old Quintrell Anderson, was arrested on Monday.
In the March 9 incident, captured on cellphone video, as many as 15 motorcyclists who were riding recklessly on Highway 101 near the Cesar Chavez St. exit surrounded a Lyft driver and beat him after they vandalized his vehicle.
One of the riders broke the victim's leg by driving over it with a motorcycle; the Lyft driver later required surgery.
