A unique new business has opened its doors in Chicago's West Loop. Called "Taste222," the combination restaurant and food concept showcase is located at 222 N. Canal St. (between Lake & Fulton).
Taste222 is the storefront showcase for Cleveland Avenue, an "accelerator for remarkable food and beverage concepts" helmed by former McDonald's CEO Don Thompson and wife Liz, who aim to invest in "a new generation of remarkable restaurant, food tech and beverage companies," according to the company's website.
Along with showcasing products from local food entrepreneurs, Taste222 serves up three meals a day to the general public, starting with coffee, tea and pastries for the morning rush. Lunch, dinner and a selection of wine, craft beer and cocktails are also on offer in the 1,500-square-foot space, which features leather couches, chandeliers, and plenty of luxe, Deco-inspired finishes.
With a website still under construction and menu details scarce, Taste222 appears to be in soft opening mode, but it is open for business. To check it out for yourself, stop by on weekdays from 7am—10pm. (It's closed on weekends.)
