A new spot to score pizza and more has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Located at 3608 W Irving Park Rd. (between Central Park Ave. & Monticello Ave) in Irving Park, the fresh arrival is called Hearth & Crust.
According to DNAInfo, the new restaurant comes from Eileen and Jose "Chepe" Garcia, who previously owned Logan Square's Buona Terra. The couple also live in the neighborhood.
Hearth & Crust's menu is centered around pizza, with options like a classic margherita and a sausage pie with roasted peppers. There are also hearty entrees like pan-seared salmon and fettuccine with mushroom ragu. To drink, there is a large selection of wines by the glass or bottle, with an emphasis on reds—the perfect pizza wines.
With a five-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, Hearth & Crust has been warmly received by patrons.
Craig F., was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 7th. He said: "Hearth and Crust is a great addition to the neighborhood! Beautiful space and excellent food. The pizzas are thin and crispy with just enough chew, which I like. Great front patio area."
Yelper Terrel K. added: “[It's a] very nice addition to the area. They have a very nice patio setup."
And Theresa W. said: "Delicious meal! I thought the menu might be limited to oven-fired pizza, but I was wrong! The menu is terrific, with a great variety or choices. We had the burrata and shared the duck breast."
Listed at two dollar signs on Yelp, you can expect to spend $11-$30 per person on a visit to Hearth & Crust.
