New 'Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea' Location Makes Debut In The LoopPhoto: DJ M./Yelp

Coffee and tea fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Located at 12 S Michigan Ave. (between Madison St & Monroe St) in The Loop, the new arrival is called Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea.

The storefront, which opened inside the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel in late June, offers the same pastries and beverages found at the original Fairgrounds location in Bucktown.

Coffee lovers will be able to select from 20 different coffee roasters, such as Stumptown, Ritual Coffee, Verve Coffee Roasters, and Four Barrel, in either an individual cup or a flight of three for $12.89. In addition to coffee drinks, the cafe also offers tea, elixirs, kombucha on tap, and a variety of breakfast options, sandwiches, salads and bowls. (See the full menu here.)

With a 5.0-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh addition is on its way to developing a local fan base.

David D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 2nd, said: "I liked their other location so much I had to visit Michigan Ave as well. I had and a Grandpa Irv's old fashioned and a chocolate croissant before grabbing one of their to go chopped salads for lunch."

Yelper Matthew H. added: "This place opened yesterday and I've been here twice. So far, so very good. The drinks are great. Today I'm having a Jungle Juice: mango tea, turmeric, and coconut."

And Michael S. said: "This location is a smaller version of the one in Bucktown which I love. It has a lot of my favorites and the location is amazing! So happy to have another Fairgrounds to visit!"

You can anticipate spending less than $10 per person on a visit to Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea, as it's marked as one dollar sign on Yelp.
