Sandwich fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Located at 6011 W Irving Park Rd. (between Mc Vicker Ave. & Austin Ave.) in Dunning, the fresh arrival is called Charley Noble.

This is the first gourmet sandwich shop for Joe and Melissa Basilone, who also operate Perkalator, a popular coffee shop in Portage Park. The new family-friendly restaurant, named after a sea captain from the mid-19th century, has a variety of cold, hot, and vegetarian-friendly sandwiches to choose from.

Look for subs, such as The Kraken ( Joseph’s homemade prime roast beef, sharp cheddar and horseradish sauce on a fresh baked onion roll), Italian Submarine (Genoa salami, mortadella, hot capicolla, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, vinaigrette, seasoning, Charley Sauce on a sub roll ), and more for $9-$13, or build your own for about $11. If you want something lighter, go for one of their soups or salads, which will cost you $3-$13. (See the full menu here.)

With a 4.5-star rating out of 13 reviews on Yelp so far, Charley Noble is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Rob K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 13th, said: "I'm not sure how Joe and Mellssa and the whole crew have done it, but they've opened a yet another great new place around Irving Park and Austin, and and we couldn't be happier."

And Bobby B. said: "Joe and Melissa did it again. Great job guys. Although it took over 30 min to get my Cuban sandwich, it's just the 2nd day it's open and they will, no doubt, work out the kinks."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Charley Noble is open Tuesday–Saturday from 11am–8pm, and Sunday from 11am–7pm. (It's closed on Monday.)
