A 74-year-old woman was assaulted inside her home on the first block of Garces Drive in Parkmerced, reported police officials.

The incident occurred at 4:32am on Friday, August 25th, and began when the victim entered a bathroom in her home. At that point, a 43-year-old man entered the bathroom and hit her several times. 

The suspect and victim were known to each other, police spokesperson Officer Robert Rueca told us, and it did not appear that the man forced his way into the woman's home. 

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident, and the man was arrested at the scene.
