Woman Safe After Attempted Mission Kidnapping

An 18-year-old woman was the victim of an attempted kidnapping in the Mission early this morning. 

The incident occurred at 2:03am at the intersection of 21st and Folsom streets and started when the victim and a 25-year-old man met. She entered his vehicle, but he then refused to let her get out. 

She saw police officers and was able to escape, requesting help. The woman was not injured in the incident. 

The suspect fled the scene. Police later found the car and a handgun within. No arrests were made.
