Craving burgers? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Burger Shack, the newcomer is located at 2237 Powell St. (between Bay St & Francisco St) in North Beach.

Located at the site of the former China House Bar & Grill, the new spot is turning out all-American classics, with a menu of beef and turkey burgers, chicken sandwiches, and sides like onion rings, curly fries, jalapeño poppers and mini corn dogs. A selection of milkshakes and soda drinks round out the menu, and a casual layout make the new spot a good option for families and groups.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 12 reviews on Yelp so far, Burger Shack seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Robert H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 25th, said: "So happy that this place opened. The burgers are juicy and flavorful. Got the 1/2 pound Shack burger and was very happy with it."

Yelper danielle a. added: “We're so happy to have a new place open up in north beach so close to home! It's sad seeing all the buildings without businesses.”

And Auna B. said: "Extremely friendly staff and super clean restaurant. Nice, simple selection of food-- just basic American food like burgers, nuggets, chicken sandwiches, etc. Good food, and pretty standard!"

Head on over to check it out: Burger Shack is open daily from 10:30am–10pm.
