If you've got Eastern European food on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The new addition to Lincoln Park, called Hugo's Pelmeni, is located at 2468 N Clark St. (between Arlington Pl & Roslyn Pl).

Hugo's is all about pelmeni dumplings, with a variety of options to choose from. Diners can select from lamb, chicken, beef or potato dumplings, and have them prepared boiled or fried. There are also an array of dipping sauces to pair with each dish, like ajvar (roasted red pepper sauce), marinara sauce, and more.

There are salads and soups on offer as well, like tomato and cucumber salad and kharcho (rice and walnut soup) with lamb.

Hugo's Pelmeni has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.

Larry B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 17th, said: "This new addition is hugely welcome to Clark Street...been living here for 15 years and this is the first newcomer that should become a neighborhood gem!"

Yelper Iggy F. added: “Long time wait for Russian staple comfort food—pelmeni! We had deep fried chicken and classic lamb and potato pelmeni with marinara. All are excellent! Welcome to the neighborhood!”

And Andrii D. said: "You have no idea how excited I was when my friend and I accidentally found this place when we were passing by! No need to go back to Eastern Europe and ask your mom to cook pelmeni for you!"

Head on over to check it out: Hugo's Pelmeni is open daily from 11am–11pm.
