A new cocktail bar has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Prairie School, the new arrival is located at 326 N Morgan St. (between Van Buren St. & Jackson Blvd.) in the West Loop.

Prairie School comes from Heisler Hospitality, the same group behind popular Chicago eateries like Sportsman's Club, Bad Hunter, and Queen Mary, among others. It's opening in conjunction with another Heisler project: Regards to Edith, a restaurant specializing in upscale takes on Chicago favorites.

The design is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and the menu features a variety of signature cocktails like a "Gin Blossom" martini, lemon ice with fresh fruit, a "Toronto Sour" with rye whiskey and maple syrup, and the "King Kamehameha," with gold rum and wild mountain tea. There is also a selection of bottled beer and wine by the glass.

Light pub fare is on offer as well, like mixed nuts and fried cheese curds.

The new addition has gotten good reviews thus far, with a 3.5-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.

Stephanie L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 14th, said: "Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired...and I like what I see...It's definitely a higher end cocktail place, which I'm a sucker for.  They have this crazy Japanese ice machine, amongst other cool things."

Yelper Taylor C. added: “Good selection of high-quality drinks. They specialize in cocktails, but have some good beers and wines as well."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Prairie School is open Saturday from 5pm–3am, and Sunday–Friday from 5pm–2am.
