A new café, offering tea, coffee and more, has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 11870 Santa Monica Blvd. in Sawtelle, the fresh arrival is called Percolate.
This new spot specializes in popular and rare loose leaf teas, pour-over coffee and espresso drinks. It also offers a selection of locally baked goods.
On the hot tea menu, expect to see options like sencha matcha from Japan, yuzu green from China, Irish breakfast from Sri Lanka, and chamomile from Egypt. Tea latte drinks are also on offer, like a turmeric latte, Thai chai, and matcha.
Many of the teas are also available iced with boba, like sencha lavender and jasmine flower.
For coffee drinks, the café features single-origin beans from Ethiopia and Panama.
Rounding things out are a selection of vegan, gluten-free, or "fully loaded" baked goods. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer is on its way to developing a local fan base.
L B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 3rd, said: "I love Percolate's boba! On the recommendation of friends, I drove to Percolate today to taste the 'best boba' in CA. I'm writing this review because it was AMAZING."
