According to a sign posted on the front of its building, Tee Off Bar & Grill, a  beloved Outer Richmond dive bar, will soon pour its last.

The sign below bids a fond farewell to the neighborhood:

Tee Off is a low-key, sports-themed hangout with table tennis, shuffle board, a jukebox and a popular dining menu that's long attracted the warm regards of dive bar aficionados, earning places on city "best of" lists and even a visit from celebrity eater Guy Fieri.

A kitchen fire briefly shuttered the establishment last summer and resulted in a remodel that spruced up some of the interior and roof, but the guts of the bar have been largely unchanged for years—which has been part of its charm.

General Manager Gina Horan said the reason for the closure was "a typical tale of the city—rents go up, costs go up ... this particular entity isn't sustainable" anymore.

But she added that the business has seen a lot of interest from potential buyers who were courting the business to keep the legacy alive. "There are a lot of people who want to keep it the same, down-to-earth Outer Richmond hangout," she said.

"I have really high hopes for the neighborhood and the community. Whatever it's called, whatever color it's painted, the same awesome people are going to be coming in day after day, night after night."

The Tee Off in its current incarnation will close for good this weekend.

Tee Off Bar & Grill (415-752-5439) is located at 3129 Clement St. between 32nd and 33rd Avenues.
