Two people were stabbed in separate incidents on the same block in the Mission over the weekend, police have reported. In both cases, victims suffered life-threatening injuries, and the assailants were not arrested.

In the first stabbing, which took place on Friday afternoon around 3:20pm, three male suspects between 20 and 25 years old chased a 26-year-old man into a building on the 2100 block of Mission Street.

Once inside, the suspects stabbed the victim with a knife before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.

On Sunday morning around 6:13am, nine male suspects surrounded a 57-year-old man who was walking on Mission between 17th Street and Clarion Alley and assaulted him with a knife and another blunt object.

The suspects fled the scene, and the victim was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Anyone who has information about either of these incidents is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
