A new fast-casual eatery, complete with outdoor seating, has opened its doors in Lake Highlands. The fresh addition to northeast Dallas, located at 8031 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 1150, is the second Unleavened Fresh Kitchen in the city, and focuses on serving up healthy fare like salads and wraps.
Owners Tom Dynan and Scott Piland opened the first location in Lakewood in 2015, and it has already made Eater Dallas' best-of lists, with a second outpost in Southlake.
Menu standouts include the Unleavened (chicken salad, currants, golden raisins, celery, garden sprouts), the Deep South (Bourbon-glazed pulled pork, shaved kale, horseradish pickle) and the broccoli slaw. Children's meals are also available and served with fruit or chips and a beverage. (See full menu here.)
The newcomer has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.
Lindsie R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 7, said, "The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I highly recommend their vegan options. The staff was also incredibly knowledgeable and efficient."
Yelper Carly M. added, “Very fresh tasting food for the whole family. Came in to take advantage of kids eating free after 4 p.m. and was pleased with the grilled chicken fingers with a colorful bowl of fresh fruit for my 2-year-old. We will be returning very soon!"
