Craving Middle Eastern and Indian food with an ambiance to match? The new family-owned Marwa Grill has opened its doors at 6257 N. McCormick Rd. in North Park.
"The team at Marwa Grill allows you to journey through various cultural experiences, from a Middle Eastern kafta kebab to a South Asian biryani," the restaurant explains on its website.
Marwa Grill's culinary influences extend to the decor, with richly colored gold and burgundy fabrics on the wall, metallic accents and beaded pendant lights.
On the menu, look for traditional Middle Eastern dishes like falafal, baba ghanouj and the mixed shawarma plate (with chicken and beef), in addition to South Asian favorites like tandoori chicken and fish tikka (seasoned and pan-fried tilapia).
Marwa Grill also offers family-sized platters for larger parties, delivery and catering services.
The fresh arrival has already attracted fans, with a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Mo A., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 31st, said, " I highly recommend it! Especially for zabiha halal eaters and those that love Middle Eastern and South Asian cuisine."
Yelper Arham P. added, “The food is exquisite — I highly recommend the kabobs! The cheese naan is amazing, butter chicken is another option that was absolutely great. AND no hassle in parking as they have plenty. Absolutely creating a new level of excellence in the Chicago area!"
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Marwa Grill is open Tuesday–Sunday from 11am–10pm. (It's closed on Monday.)
