Sip of Hope

Run by Hope for the Day, a mental health charity, Sip of Hope is a new non-profit coffee shop in Logan Square. It opened "with the goal of educating as many people as possible on mental health issues, removing stigmas around an issue many struggle with every day," Eater reports.

All of Sip of Hope's proceeds go towards proactive suicide prevention and mental health education.

The coffeeshop serves drinks with beans from Dark Matter Coffee, and on the menu, customers can find classic favorites including espressos, macchiatos, lattes, mochas, macchiatos and more.

Sip of Hope currently holds five stars out of five reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper Maricar T., who reviewed Sip of Hope on May 5, wrote, "Anywhere you go to sit, you've got a good view because the space itself is very appealing to the eye. Suicide prevention and mental health resources are available right when you walk in through the door. Guys, this place is the real deal and is a great addition to the neighborhood!"

Yelper Ashvin P. wrote, "Great vibe, excellent coffee, and all on top of a great mission to support mental health. Why aren't more businesses taking this approach? Highly recommend the cortado."

Dollop Coffee Co.

Over in River North, Dollop Coffee Co. has opened its latest outpost. Like its other locations, it serves coffee, tea and light breakfast and lunch fare. 

On the food menu, look for an assortment of breakfast foods including bagels and biscuits. There's also a selection of sandwich options for lunch. 

For those who are looking for something stronger, opt for bottled and draft beer, as well as cocktails. 

Dollop Coffee Co.'s current rating of five stars out of six reviews on Yelp indicates positive attention from users.

Yelper Heather E., who was one of the first users to visit Dollop Coffee Co. on April 27, wrote, "Everything I've eaten and drunk from Dollop has been wonderful, and while it's not cheap, I will continue to return to this coffee shop because they take great care of their customers."

Bryan K. added, "This place literally is host to the best cup of coffee in the city. If you're a coffee snob like myself it is a must-stop location when in Chicago."

La Colombe Coffee

La Colombe Coffee has opened its latest Chicago location in the Gold Coast. The Philly-based coffee chain offers a wide variety of espresso drinks, including the Americano, cortado and cappuccino.

"We love this location with its picturesque streets lined with historic homes, locally-owned boutiques, international retail and celebrated restaurants," the company explains on its blog.

Visitors can also buy their own coffee beans for home use, ranging from light roasts like the Malawi-Mzuzu Union to dark roasts like the Corsica Cornerstone.

With a four-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp, La Colombe Coffee has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Cynthia H., who reviewed La Colombe Coffee on May 12, wrote, "What I like most about this La Colombe coffee shop is that it is social. Too many times these days you walk into a coffee shop where people are plugged into their headphones or are laser focused on their laptops."

R. James G. added,  "Staff is friendly and helpful. I was offered multiple samples when deciding what to order. One time I ordered a drink wrong and they happily re-made it without a charge."

La Colombe Coffee is open from 6:30 a.m.–7 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m.–7 p.m. on weekends.

A Cup of Joe

Meanwhile, in Garfield Ridge, A Cup of Joe has opened its doors. With its retro stylings, Yelpers have called the new coffeeshop "Ed Debevic's-esque."

It offers coffeeshop mainstays, as well as sandwiches, tamales and other light fare to snack on.

With a four-star rating out of 13 reviews on Yelp, A Cup of Joe has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Sal O., who reviewed A Cup of Joe on March 8, wrote, "New business in the neighborhood. So far, very nice employees. Place is nicely decorated. Great vibe, good music. Coffee is outstanding. Definitely will be back."

Yelper Alyssa B. wrote, "It's nice to have a coffee shop in the neighborhood that isn't Dunkin' Donuts. The space is large and clean, with plenty of tables and even couches. There was plenty of space to get some work done on a Saturday afternoon."
