A new meat shop has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 778 Fort Worth Ave., Suite G-150, the fresh addition is called Cooper's Meat Market.
This longtime San Antonio meat market is not just a meat shop — it doubles as a steakhouse and bar. Owned by Michael Johnson and Victoria Berezina, and helmed by chef Kenny Mills (Capital Grille and Sullivan's Steakhouse), the shop produces high-quality beef, poultry, fish and other meats, the Dallas Observer reports.
A variety of appetizers, salads and casseroles are available as well, including an extensive wine and beer menu. Come try the Scottish salmon with dill mustard sauce and Israeli couscous, Colorado lamb chops or the bacon-wrapped, jalapeño-marinated shrimp.
With just one review on Yelp thus far, Cooper's Meat Market currently has a
five-star rating.
Ken P., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on May 8, said, "I have been looking for a local butcher for a while. It's so awesome that this place (butcher/restaurant) has opened. They are located to the left of Cox Farms Market. They offer a wine bar and have a cozy sitting area to enjoy lunch or dinner."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Cooper's Meat Market is open from 9 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on Sunday.
