Lower Garden District just got a new food park, filled with a host of different cuisines and a full bar.
The newcomer, Deja Vieux Food Park is located at 1681 Religious St., in the Lower Garden District, along the Mississippi river. The space serves as a gathering spot for various food trucks and houses a full bar. The brainchild of owners Ross and Sharonda Baudy, along with partner Grant DiFilippo, Deja Vieux Food Park was born from a vision of a family friendly gathering space filled with food, drinks and entertainment.
Enjoy covered patio seating, TV's, music and games while noshing on a variety of different cuisines. Deja Vieux’s calendar is filled with fun events like Sunday Brunch, with live performance by GPS Brazilian Jazz Project, game show night, taco Tuesdays, and thirsty Thursdays. A full bar, serving dollar shots when freight ships pass by, and Soulsation Kitchen, the soul food truck, also owned by the Shraonda’s, will be at be at the park daily. All other food trucks will rotate through, to keep things exciting. Bring Fido, pets are welcome, and thankfully there are bathrooms at the park.
With a 4.5-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, the new bar has been warmly received by patrons.
Nichole M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 16, said, "No complaints here. Our bartender Nyima was efficient and provided good conversation and drink recommendations. We had a ginger shandy beer & the grand isle cocktail, highly recommend. The atmosphere is fun and makes you feel like you're on vacation!"
“After reading about this food park, I made it over this past weekend. It was rather cold so we opted to get our food to go. There was, however, a live band playing smooth tunes,” adds Janine M.
