A new restaurant offering burgers, fries and more has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Lucy's, the new addition is located at 1043 N. California Ave. in Humboldt Park.
Lucy's is the long-awaited brick-and-mortar restaurant for the popular food trucks of the same name, run by husband-and-wife team Jessica and Damian Warzecha.
The permanent restaurant offers much of the same fare: comfort food made from scratch, including burgers and sandwiches, french fries, milkshakes and ice cream. On the menu, look for Lucy's signature items like the breakfast burger, piled high with two patties, three strips of bacon and a sunny-side up egg, ketchup and American cheese; and the Porky Fries, pork shoulder, barbecue sauce, queso cotija and jalapeños tossed over golden-brown fries.
With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, Lucy's has already made a solid first impression.
Allie G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 22, said, "Yes! A fabulous burger and chicken sandwich place right up the street from me, finally. Lucy's has it all, from a charming interior to delicious food I can't get enough of."
Yelper Nila R. added, “I was so excited to see that the food truck was now an actual restaurant! The boyfriend and I usually have Lucy's as a go-to for lunch, so of course we had to come check it out! The food was amazing, as always.”
Hungry? Stop in to try it for yourself. Lucy's is open from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday).
