Looking to chow down on some Vietnamese fare? A new spot has you covered. Called Pho Cafe, the newcomer is located at 232 W. Cermak Road in Chinatown.
Diners can expect large, filling bowls of pho. Look for the crab cake and pork with shrimp and tofu or the house special: rare beef, tripe and tendons. Pho Cafe also offers vermicelli bowls and smoothies, as well as Thai dishes like a spicy beef salad and tom yum soup.
With a 3.5-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition is finding its footing, but it's still early days.
Jason L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 7, said, "Best beef pho in Chinatown. We had been coming for the past five years when it was under old ownership. New menu, pho much more flavorful, noodles al dente and portion sizes at least 50 percent larger now. Egg rolls still good, and the dipping sauce has increased in funkiness (it's a good thing, try it)."
And Melissa L. said, "... this new Pho Cafe is bomb! My five-year old daughter ate an entire order of spring rolls all by herself, and my Bun Bo Hue was mmhmm good. All portions were so big, we had to pack the rest to go!"
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Pho Cafe is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
