There's a new place in town to score a cold treat on a hot summer day. The new addition to Trinity Groves, called Bingbox, is located at 320 Singleton Blvd., Suite 180. It's originally from New York City; this expansion marks its first foray into Texas.

Serving up colorful Korean bingsu, which is a style of shaved ice meant to have a snow-like texture, in either cones or cups, it allows you to create your own or pick a combination from its menu.

If you don't want to build your own, options include the Matcha (red bean, mochi, condensed milk and waffle cookie), the Honeydew (Fruity Pebbles, lychee jelly, condensed milk and waffle cookie) and the Thai Tea (lychee, rainbow jelly, condensed milk and waffle cookie). (See the full menu here.)

Besides its frozen treats, you can also score milkshakes, hot chocolate, fruit teas, milk teas and other beverages.

With a 4.5-star rating out of 14 reviews on Yelp so far, Bingbox has already made a good impression.

N P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 16, wrote, "Timing couldn't be any better to have a soft serve and Korean bingsu shop at Trinity Groves to beat the Texas heat. The unique flavors, such as milk tea, taro, Thai tea, honeydew and matcha alone are worth giving this place a try."

Yelper Gabriela H. added, “We were greeted so cheerfully, and the servers let us try a bunch of soft-serve flavors before we settled on a peach and honeydew swirl ... I would recommend this hard-to-come-by flavor for summer! Also loved the option of a red velvet waffle cone!"

Interested in trying it for yourself? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Bingbox is open from noon–9 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
