A new Mediterranean spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 669 Boylston St. in Back Bay, the new arrival is called Cava.

This rapidly expanding fast-casual chain has Boston-area locations near Fenway and in Dedham and Hingham, with a fifth outpost soon to arrive in Kendall Square.

It specializes in customizable Mediterranean bowls and salads where customers can select their grains, proteins, vegetables and dips. Options include saffron basmati rice, jalapeno-infused feta mousse, cauliflower quinoa and spicy lamb meatballs with harissa.

Cava has made a good impression thus far, with a four-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Quang N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 22, wrote, "Stopped by today to try this spot out. I was greeted by Talon, who delivered delicious food with fast and excellent service. Will definitely return."

Yelper Christine H. added, “So good. Wish I worked closer so I could eat here more often. I pre-ordered a half salad, half brown rice bowl with tzatziki, hummus, eggplant, chicken and a myriad of toppings and it was waiting to be picked up by the time I got there. Love the fact that Cava doesn't limit toppings or sauces and all the flavors mix very well together."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Cava is open from 10:45 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
