Craving comfort food? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Soleil, the fresh arrival is located at 2306 Washington St. in Roxbury.
Billing itself as a "casual neighborhood cafe," Soleil is open from breakfast through dinner, serving classic American comfort fare. In the morning, options include breakfast sandwiches, omelets, pancakes, waffles and hash.
At lunch, you'll find sandwiches like the Dudley (with fried whiting, jalapeno tartar sauce, lettuce, tomato and cheese) and salads like the Northampton (with kale and iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, black beans, cheddar cheese and tomato). Dinner brings larger plates like lamb, roasted turkey or fried chicken, with a choice of two sides like black-eyed pea salad or roasted carrots.
The new arrival has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.
Bret P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 11, wrote, "Great spot for a home-cooked meal! They only opened two weeks ago, so the staff was still working out the kinks, but all the food came out quickly and it was DELICIOUS!"
Yelper James I. added, “This is a really nice restaurant, I'm glad they replaced Tasty Burger. The customer service is top notch and the menu is easy to read. The food was nice and flavorful and the setting was clean."
