On the hunt for a locally owned brewery to check out? Look no further than the new location of Device Brewing, now open at a new taproom at 1610 R St. in Midtown's Ice Blocks.

The small-batch craft brewery specializing in West Coast style ales recently won awards for its Chairman's Choice (an American Strong Ale) and Salted Caramel Porter at the California State Fair, as the Sacramento Bee reports. (You can check out the full list of available beers at the brewery's website.)

The taproom has seating both indoors and outdoors. For now, food is provided by a rotating selection of food trucks, and patrons are also encouraged to bring their own food. (You can check out the truck schedule here.)

With a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the new brewery has been warmly received by patrons.

"A bright, tasteful and tasty place to grab some brews!" wrote Kerensa U., who was the first to review the new spot on June 9. "I liked the clean, spacious interior and the staff was friendly and quick to move through the line."

Yelper Jason G. added, “They have food trucks now and they will be getting food delivered from Beast and Bounty when they open. TV's can be seen from everywhere you sit. Cool place!”

"Tasty beer. Wonderful people. Lovely atmosphere," Yelper Kenny R. summarized.

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Device Brewing is open from 11 a.m.–midnight Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.–1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
