A new beer and cider garden has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Downeast Back Porch, the newcomer is located in Dewey Square on the Greenway, at 600 Atlantic Ave.

Downeast, which is based in East Boston, is known for its ciders in flavors like Aloha Friday (with pineapple) and Mint Lemonade. This new "cider garden" offers drinkers the opportunity to enjoy the company's beverages outdoors, with lawn games, a rotating selection of food trucks and live entertainment.

For those who'd rather not sip cider, the Back Porch also offers beer from a rotating brewery of the week (currently Banded Brewing) and a selection of wine and sangria.

With a 4.5-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, the new beer garden is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Nick L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 18, wrote, "Great cider, great beer and wine, great activities. Love the rotating beer selection for non-cider drinkers, the live music (when they have it), and the Wednesday night run club."

Yelper Ceren O. added, “Great open place. You can have their ciders, rotating beers and also wine. There's always a food truck there to keep your belly full. Also a few lawn games for fun. We've been here twice already."
