Interested in getting the lowdown on the freshest new spots in Charlotte? From a nail salon to a sports bar, learn more about the businesses that have recently opened their doors in the city. 

Modish Nail Spa

Modish Nail Spa, with a sister location in Harrisburg, has a new salon open at 8640 University City Blvd. The business offers manicures with gel polish, nail designs, acrylic and SNS nails, deluxe pedicures, waxing services and more. There are also nail services for children under 10.

The upscale nail salon, which features chandeliers and wall sconces, offers complimentary beverages including wine, beer and soft drinks while you wait.

Blue Cave

A newcomer to Ballantyne, Blue Cave is a sports bar that's located at 16640 Hawfield Way Drive. The establishment offers traditional American bites and booze.

Check out the fried, grilled or blackened chicken on a pretzel roll topped with bacon, lettuce and chipotle aioli, and pair it with the Prairie Mule made of vodka, ginger beer and lime.

Pepper's Louisiana Kitchen

Pepper's Louisiana Kitchen is a Cajun and Creole spot that's made its debut at 8432 Old Statesville Road, Suite 300. Owned by Louisiana natives, it specializes in southern Louisiana fare like fried okra, gumbo and more.

Weekday specials include "Pastalaya" (Jambalaya pasta) on Tuesday, Cajun spaghetti on Wednesday and classic Louisiana po'boys on Thursday. 

Firenza Pizza

Now open at 6925 University City Blvd., Suite 420, is Firenza Pizza. The chain specializes in handcrafted pizzas baked in a stone hearth. Pizzas can be  customized with nearly 40 toppings, including house-roasted garlic, creamy mozzarella ovalini and lean grilled steak, per its website.  

Not interested in customized pizzas? Choose from Firenza's eight signature pies, from a vegetarian option to the Big Kahuna with smoked ham, bacon and pineapple.
