There's a new Creamistry in town at 1929 Greenville Ave. The California ice cream chain has been steadily expanding into Texas and the location in Lower Greenville is the newest yet.

Creamistry sets itself apart with two factors: a build-your-own ice cream concept and making its ice cream on the spot by employing liquid nitrogen.

When building your dessert, you start by choosing a size (regular or large) and base (regular, organic, sorbet or coconut). You then choose your flavors, which include breakfast cereals, candies, fruits and more. Finally, you top your creation off with candy bits, crumbled cookies, sliced fruits, sauces and other options.

Additionally, you have the choice to put your ice cream in a waffle bowl, brownie bowl or chocolate bowl instead of the standard cup.

If you'd prefer a shake instead, it hass got those too.

Creamistry appears to be off to a good start in the community, currently holding 4.5-stars out of seven reviews among Yelpers.

Yelper Katie T., who reviewed Creamistry on June 2, wrote, "Holy cow, this place is delicious! This ice cream is the creamiest I've ever had. They use liquid nitrogen to make it colder and it works. It barely melted, even as I sat outside eating in the hot Texas sun during June."

Yelper Akbar D. wrote, "Can't live without my weekly fix of Fruity Pebbles and Kit Kat! So glad there's a closer location to me and it's open late at night!"

If you're ready to build your own ice cream concoction, Creamistry is open from noon–11 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday and noon–midnight on Friday and Saturday.
