Taco fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. The fresh arrival is called Mami Coco and is located at 4900 Bryan St., Suite B, in East Dallas.
Besides its tacos (which come in both street and breakfast form), the menu includes things like sopes with beans, queso fresco sour cream sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cilantro and your choice of prensado (pressed pork), bistec deshebrada picadillo (thinly sliced steak), pollo or tripitas; menudo on the weekends; and flautas with your choice of meat and guacamole crema salsa. You can also score enchiladas, burritos and quesadillas.
Mami Coco has just two reviews on Yelp, which gives it a five-star rating thus far.
Jacob B., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on May 7, said, "The taco de chicharrón prensado, tripas and flautas were all amazing. Gustavo and the staff are super helpful and polite. I normally do not like tomatillo salsa, but the tomatillo side salsa here was amazing. I will definitely be back to try the enchiladas and the burritos."
Lori P. added, "We stopped in for lunch and had flautas and tacos. Both were very good, and Gustavo really went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed everything. The food is very authentic and was really tasty. I can't wait to go back!"
