Freezy Street

Freezy Street is a franchise location and the first rolled ice cream store in Louisiana. According to its website, rolled ice cream is made by pouring a base onto a cold plate that stays under 20 degrees and watching it freeze right before your eyes.

At Freezy Street, toppings for the ice cream include fresh strawberries, bananas, cookies and almonds. Rolled ice cream flavors into My Thai, Key lime, cookie monster and more.

Yelpers are excited about Freezy Street, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of two reviews on the site.

Linda L. wrote, "Service was great and everything tasted great! I had the chicory and it was good. I had a bite of my nephew's breakfast cereal with the Fruity Pebbles. That was delish!"

Theresa N. noted, "The rolled ice cream is super good. I got the My Thai and it tasted exactly like Thai tea."

Freezy Street is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. from Monday-Thursday and Sunday and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Mac and Moon

Mac and Moon is a spot to score macarons, bubble tea and rolled ice cream. Check out the frozen herbal hibiscus lemonade decorated with edible flowers, blood orange and popping pomegranate boba.

Other menu items include blooming flower frozen tea and jasmine rose bubble tea. The rolled ice cream is vegan and gluten free and comes in flavors like chocolate, mint and strawberry.

Mac and Moon currently holds 4.5 stars out of eight reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.

Yelper Rebecca F. wrote, "Don't miss the vegan gluten-free handmade rolled ice cream, which boasts an all-vegan gluten-free list of toppings (made to order). If you've sworn off vegan ice cream due to chemical aftertaste, you won't find that here with this homemade recipe. It's time to indulge."

Alana M. noted, "Delicious macarons. It still melts in the mouth. This time tried the lemon lavender, Fruity Pebbles and tangerine dream. My friend enjoyed his rolled ice cream very much."

Newton's Hot & Cold

Newton's Hot & Cold is dishing out handcrafted Sicilian gelato in the French Quarter.

According to its website, Newton's is staffed by the crew of Little Vic's. In addition to gelato, the shop features cannoli, coffee, sandwiches and soup and pre-baked goodies.

Newton's Hot & Cold is off to a strong start with five stars out of seven reviews on the site.

Lauren P.  wrote, "This is Little Vic's off of Toulouse reborn and reimagined! Same staff, and they still wear the Little Vic's shirts! The new spot is adorable and it's still the really incredible gelato."

And Xochit C. noted, "This place is awesome! The owners were so sweet and strike up a good conversation. Not even mentioning the amazing ice cream! Try the wild raspberry!"
