There's a brand-new macaron bakery in town. Called Maca, the new arrival is located in Somerville's new Bow Market, at 1 Bow Market Way in Union Square.

Founded by baker Tamy Chung, Maca specializes in hand-piped macarons with organic ingredients and natural flavorings. Flavor options include lavender honey, Fruity Pebbles, cake batter, chocolate orange and more.

Chung also makes themed macarons depicting various characters, from Pokemon to Hello Kitty.

With just one review on Yelp thus far, Maca currently has a five-star rating.

Be E., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on June 10, wrote, "All macarons are fresh and full of flavor. There's many flavors offered, so there's something for everyone. And there's also specialty character macarons. The staff is friendly, and the owner is always there! She's great!"

Head on over to check it out: Maca is open from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
