Hungry and overheated? A new halal Mediterranean joint featuring gyros and fruit freezes has you covered. Called Orange Oven, the new addition is located in the former space of Merlino's Orange Freeze, at 2790 Stockton Blvd. in North Oak Park.
On the menu, look for the signature chicken gyros and tzatziki tacos, as well as classic American options like hamburgers and hot dogs. Orange Oven also offers frozen fruit treats in flavors like orange, mango, strawberry, lemon and pineapple.
With a five-star rating out of 24 reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival is scooping up rave reviews.
Kym P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 17, said, "We got the chicken gyro with fries, Philly gyro, and paratha gyro. Tiki was very pleasant and the food was delicious!"
"I couldn't resist the delicious food and amazing prices, so I had to come back again in the same week!" added Yelper Aya E., who checked in at the Mediterranean eatery twice. "This is a great small spot in the area and don't let the tiny space fool you. They deliver tons of flavor for a great price."
