If you've got Vietnamese on the mind, a recent Natomas opening is a need-to-know. Located at 4251 Truxel Road, Suite C1, in the RP - Sports Complex, the fresh spot is called Co Do 2.

As we recently reported, it's the second restaurant from the owners of Co Do on Stockton Boulevard in South Sac, known for its signature spicy beef noodle soup, bun bo hue, as well as grilled meat and rice plates, beef phở and stir-fried dishes.

At Co Do 2 you'll also find dishes like a barbecued pork chop and fried shrimp cake combination with rice, and the char-broiled shrimp with pork balls, egg rolls and shredded pork over vermicelli noodles.

Diners can top off their meals with a fruit smoothie or a Vietnamese-style milk tea, which come in flavors like rose, Thai or green tea and are served with boba, jelly or egg pudding. The restaurant also offers specialty drinks, like the fresh lemon soda with salted plum and salted preserved leaves.

Co Do 2 currently has a 3.5-star rating out of 50 reviews on Yelp thus far, indicating generally favorable reviews.

"The egg rolls are good, and it's refreshing to have egg rolls that aren't vegetarian. ... The bun bo hue is what they're really known for in South Sac and it never disappoints," said Yelper Monica L., adding, "Get their fresh orange juice. It's bomb."

But Yelper Daisy T., who gave Co Do 2 a high rating in her first review, updated her comment to add, "I went in for lunch today and ordered, yet again, their bun bo hue. The broth came out lukewarm, not even hot!"

Stop in to slurp it for yourself. Co Do 2 is open from 10 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on Sunday.
