A new Indian spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Vaisakhi Indian Kitchen, the new arrival is located at 157 Sutherland Rd. in Brighton. Punjabi food is highlighted ("Vaisakhi" is the Punjabi New Year's festival), which means vegetables, meat or seafood cooked in spices, plus tomatoes, garlic, onion and ginger. Tandoori specialties get their own menu page, as do the vegetarian options.

Vaisakhi Indian Kitchen has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating from eight reviews on Yelp.

Christian R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 28, said, "The staff treated us really well and were quite attentive to us. As vegetarians, it is really nice to have a place with so many options!"

Yelper Daniel R. added, “Vaisakhi is the breath of fresh air that the restaurant scene in this little corner of Brighton and all of Cleveland Circle needs. Finally a sit down, casual Indian place that's reasonably priced.”

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Vaisakhi Indian Kitchen is open from 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday and 11:30 a.m.–10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
