Waffle House, the iconic American restaurant chain, has opened up a new outpost in the neighborhood. The fresh addition is located at 221 W. Esplanade Ave.
The eatery — with over 2,100 locations in 25 states — features fresh breakfast fare such as waffles, steak and eggs, cheesesteak omelets, biscuits and sausage gravy.
Come try the popular All Star Special consisting of a fresh cup of Waffle House coffee, eggs, hash browns, toast, a waffle and your choice of bacon, city ham or sausage.
Lunch offerings include salads, melts, burgers and steaks like the 10-ounce T-bone or classic sirloin.
With a four-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, the new diner has made a promising start.
Elizabeth T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 6, wrote, "The food was well prepared and delicious, however the coffee was not as tasty. I visited the bathroom and it was clean and smelled great."
"So good!" wrote Yelper Marel M. "Never thought we'd have a Waffle House this close in Kenner, or that it'd be this good! Wonderful customer service. ... And my All Star special was super delicious! Highly recommend!"
