Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea

Over in the North Loop, you'll find Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea, a new cafe at 120 Third Ave. North. On its website, the shop says it features "myriad coffee and tea varietals, as well as the best brands from around the globe." This is its fourth outpost, with other locations in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Try an espresso, cold brew, cappuccino, americano or latte or grab a flight of different flavors at the brew bar. Tea comes hot or iced, with options like moonlight jasmine green tea and coconut oolong. Or opt for a signature creation, called elixirs, like the Jungle Juice with mango, turmeric tea, saffron and cayenne pepper, or the Alternative Energy with coffee, butter and coconut oil. Check out the full drink menu here.

Hungry? Options include bagels, oatmeal and bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast; a pesto Caprese sandwich or BLT for lunch; and snacks such as chips and dip, funnel cake fries and guacamole.

Meyvn

Head uptown to 901 W. Lake St. for Meyvn, a modern eatery featuring breakfast fare, small plates, sandwiches, salads and libations.

The restaurant, which comes courtesy of chef Adam Eaton and restaurateur Tim Niver, is looking to "explore Jewish cuisine through the lens of fine dining in a restaurant that is mainly counter service," reports Eater Twin Cities.

On the menu, look for a hot pastrami sandwich with mustard, tabbouleh salad, latkes and bagels with schmear. The full-service bar offers beer, wine and cocktails. Check out the menu here.

Underground Music Cafe

Now open at 408 N. Third Ave. in the North Loop is Underground Music Cafe, a music venue and beer bar.

This spot has live music every night of the week and serves burgers, sandwiches (muffuletta, grilled cheese and the salami provolone melt, to name a few) and shareables like a hummus plate and an artisan cheese board. Grab a brew, shot of liquor or a signature cocktail to pair with your grub. Check out the business' website for more information.
