#Hungry? A new neighborhood spot has you covered with french fries and finger foods in Deep Ellum. Located at 2656 Main St., the fresh addition is called #Getfried fry cafe.
The inspiration for the eatery comes from the ubiquitous Dutch french fry cafes as well as French-Canadian poutine, in which a brown gravy is served over fries and cheese curds. The menu at #Getfried builds on these simple concepts, but adds a host of sauce options, like malt vinegar, roasted red pepper and powdered sugar. Other toppings include brisket, sirloin, shredded chicken, sweet peppers, cheese and more.
Need something to go with your fries? Chicken fingers, sliders and mozzarella sticks round out the menu.
Based in Buffalo, New York, #Getfried now has 10 franchises, including overseas.
The cafe has gotten good reviews thus far, with a 3.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
Ashley S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 30, wrote, "Had the brisket fries and it was delicious! There was a ton of meat and had great flavor. Awesome staff and concept! Can't wait to go back."
And Preston D. wrote, "The name really says it all! The fries are pretty fantastic quality, but it's the toppings that really make this place soar. The TV was a little loud, but I would definitely go back."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. #Getfried fry cafe is open from 11 a.m.–midnight on Sunday-Wednesday, and 11 a.m.–3 a.m. on Thursday-Saturday.
