A new cafe and breakfast and lunch spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Evergreen Eatery, the fresh addition is located at 154 Green St. in Jamaica Plain.
This newcomer is equal parts coffee shop and diner, serving coffee and pastries on one side of the business and food from a full kitchen on the other. On the coffee side, diners can expect Blue Heron espresso and coffee drinks, including iced and frozen coffees. The shop also offers tea, juices, smoothies and three varieties of hot chocolate.
All the drinks are also available at the full-service eatery, which is focused on hearty American breakfast fare like corned beef hash, benedicts, breakfast burritos and pancakes. Lunch brings burgers, salads and sandwiches like a grilled cheese or a BLT.
Evergreen Eatery has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a 3.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
G N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 15, wrote, "We've been to the cafe probably seven times already, and to the diner once. The coffee and iced teas are excellent. My husband loves the nitro! The cookies are amazing, and my vegan friend is so happy they have vegan options. The breakfast sandwich to-go (egg, ham and cheese) was great and perfectly warm. As for the diner, the blueberry pancakes were huge and my kid loved them."
Yelper Jennifer C. added, “Another dog-friendly restaurant patio, hooray! Came here on a Saturday morning and sat down for breakfast. Collectively, we ordered three juices, hot and iced coffee, avocado toast, pancakes, make your own omelette, and breakfast wrap. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented."
